The contest is open to all classes of primary and secondary schools, and primary and secondary schools of Aosta Valley.

The organizing body will make available 12 photos with different subjects. Every class involved will choose the subject(s) that they prefer among those available.

There are three categories: 1) primary school; 2) middle school; 3) secondary school.
The works will be exhibited from July 10 to August 31, 2019 through the Visitor Center of the Mont Avic Natural Park in Covarey (Champdepraz).

The works in paper format must have a maximum dimensions of A3. The works in digital format must have minimum long side dimensions of 4000 pixels and must be in jpg format.
Every work must have a title. On every work you will have to indicate the class and the school.

The works can be made by groups of students or individual students. It will be, however, always the “class” to participate to the contest and to be awarded. With the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the Park we want to, in fact, underline the importance of “team spirit” and collaboration, among individuals with different skills, to reach a common goal.

Every class can send a maximum number of works matching the the number of students in the class itself.

3. REGISTRATION AND COLLECTION OF WORKS

Registration for the contest can only take place by sending the appropriate form to the following e-mail address: avic30photocontest@montavic.it. The registration deadline is February 20, 2019. The form is delivered to the educational institutions together with the presentation letter of the initiative. Participation in the competition is free.

After registration comes the step of sending, by email, the photos of 12 subjects that characterize the Park: prominent landscape elements, characteristic environments, typical fauna and flora, places of particular charm and interest.

A representative of the Park will pick up the works from the schools between May 27 to 31, 2019. The organizing body will contact the schools to agree on a precise date and hour for picking up the works.

4. JURY

A specific jury is not planned. The works will be voted by the public that will visit the exhibition at the Visitor Center of the park in Covarey (Champdepraz) from July 10 to August 31, 2019.
Anyone will be able to express his or her vote indicating it on a note to be inserted in a box stationed in the exhibition spaces. At the end of the exhibition, based on the votes received, the three winning works (one for each category: primary schools, middle schools, and secondary schools) will be revealed.

5. PRIZES

All the classes involved will receive a free annual subscription to the nature and environmental education magazines “La Salamandre” (secondary schools) and “La Salamandre Junior” or “La Petite Salamandre” (primary and middle schools). The annual subscription, for the participating class, will begin from September 2019.

Each student in the classes involved will be given a free gadget made for the thirtieth anniversary of the Park. The gadgets will be delivered to the teacher, at the same time the works will be collected. It is the responsibility of the teacher to distribute the items to each student.

The “winner certificate” and a prize of editorial materials will be presented to the classes that have presented the winning works (one per category). A single work can, thus, allow the entire class to win.
Between September 15 and 30, 2019 the winning classes will be informed by email by the organizer and will attend the award ceremony of the photography contest, that will be held between December 1 – 15, 2019, at a location chosen by the organizing body.
